Question: Hello! My five year-old girl shocked me lately with her question: Mommy, what is a virgin? What should I tell her? All I could mumble is that is something little girls do not have to know. Was it right?
Answer:You know at this age kids start asking various questions which might be quite confusing, just as the question of your daughter. However, usually these questions should not be answered in details, your answers should contain some general information just to satisfy a small kid. At the same time by answering the way you did you keep the kid’s interest to the question and you leave some space in the child’s mind which remains unfilled that is not good. So perhaps the best thing to do is to find some suitable answer like ‘a virgin is a woman who hasn’t loved any man yet’ or create something of your own.
